Most people come to Uttarakhand for the Char Dham. But the ones who come back — they come back for everything else.
The hill towns that slow you down. The lakes that reflect the sky so perfectly you forget which way is up. The forests that smell like pine and cold air. The small dhabas on mountain roads where chai tastes better than anywhere else in the world (Pahadi chai ka apna hi swad hota hai).
Uttarakhand is a state that rewards the curious. And at Baba Kedar Darshan, our leisure tour packages are designed for exactly that — people who want to experience this place properly, not just tick boxes on a list.
Uttarakhand is not a one-size destination. Different people come here for entirely different reasons — and that is the beauty of it. Here is how we think about it:
The Family Looking for a Hill Station Break You want fresh air, comfortable hotels, easy sightseeing, and a relaxed pace. Nainital, Mussoorie, and Ranikhet are made for you. Scenic lakes, colonial-era walks, toy train rides, viewpoints — everything the family enjoys without too much effort.
The Couple on a Quiet Getaway You want somewhere peaceful, away from city noise, with good views and unhurried days. Kausani, Mukteshwar, and Almora deliver exactly this (sukoon ki talaash). These are slower, quieter destinations that most tour operators skip — but our locals know them well.
The Adventure Seeker You want to ski in the Himalayas, go river rafting, or push your legs on a serious trek. Auli for skiing, Rishikesh for white-water rafting, Chopta for the high-altitude Tungnath trail. Uttarakhand has real adventure — not manufactured thrills.
The Wildlife and Nature Lover Jim Corbett National Park is one of India's finest tiger reserves. Combine it with Nainital or Ranikhet for a perfect nature-focused break that does not feel rushed.
The most visited hill station in Uttarakhand — and still worth every visit. The Naini Lake at its centre, the snow viewpoints above, the cable car ride, the old market lanes — Nainital works beautifully for first-time visitors and repeat travellers alike. Best combined with Bhimtal, Sattal, or Mukteshwar for a fuller Kumaon experience.
Uttarakhand's "Queen of Hills" sits at 2,000 meters above Dehradun and offers sweeping views of the Doon Valley and the Shivalik range. Kempty Falls, Gun Hill, Lal Tibba, the famous Mall Road — Mussoorie is classic, lively, and still one of the most charming hill towns in northern India (Pahadi shahar ki apni ek alag rooh hoti hai).
People come to Rishikesh expecting a spiritual town and leave having discovered one of the most energetic, multi-layered destinations in India. Yes, there are temples, ghats, and evening Ganga aarti that will stay with you for life. But there is also world-class yoga and meditation, white-water rafting on the Ganga, cliff jumping, bungee, and a food and cafe culture that is genuinely excellent. Give Rishikesh more than a day — it deserves it.
India's best skiing destination — sitting at 2,500 to 3,000 meters in the Garhwal Himalayas, with views of Nanda Devi and a dozen other Himalayan peaks behind you as you ski. The season runs from January to March. Outside of ski season, Auli transforms into a stunning high-altitude meadow (bugyal) trek destination. We arrange complete Auli ski packages including equipment rental, ski instruction for beginners, and comfortable guesthouse stays.
Called the "Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand" by those who have been there — Chopta is a dense forest ridgeline at around 2,680 meters that very few tour operators include in their standard packages. From here, a 3.5 km trek takes you to Tungnath, the highest Shiva temple in the world at 3,680 meters. The views from the ridge are extraordinary. If you are looking for something off the beaten path (alag aur khubsoorat) — Chopta is it.
A small hilltop town in Kumaon that Mahatma Gandhi once called the "Switzerland of India." From Kausani on a clear morning, you can see over 300 km of the Himalayan range including Trishul, Nanda Devi, and Panchachuli peaks. It is quiet, unhurried, and the kind of place where you genuinely feel your shoulders drop. Best for couples, solo travellers, and anyone who needs to slow down.
A former British cantonment town in the Kumaon hills, Ranikhet is one of those places that has held on to its old-world character beautifully. Wide roads, tall oak and pine trees, a famous golf course, and views of the snow peaks — Ranikhet feels peaceful in a way that is increasingly rare. Combine with Almora and Corbett for a full Kumaon circuit.
India's oldest national park and one of the best places in the country to spot the Bengal tiger in its natural habitat. The park spans over 500 sq km of dense forest, riverbed, and grassland. We arrange complete Corbett packages including forest safaris (jeep and elephant), comfortable resort stays, and combination tours with Nainital or Ranikhet.
One of the most culturally rich towns in Uttarakhand — a crescent-shaped hilltop bazaar full of local crafts, copper work, and old Kumaoni temples. Almora is not a typical tourist destination, which is exactly why it is worth visiting. The light here has been drawing artists and writers for decades (Kumaon ki mitti mein ek khaas kashish hai). Combine with Kausani, Mukteshwar, or Jageshwar for a deeply rewarding Kumaon tour.

All packages are fully customisable. Group size, travel dates, hotel category, pace — everything can be adjusted around your needs.
A question we get asked often, especially by first-time visitors. Here is a practical answer:
Garhwal (western Uttarakhand) is where most of the major pilgrimages are — Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, Yamunotri. It is also home to Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Auli, and Chopta. If your priority is spiritual destinations, adventure activities, or the iconic hill stations, Garhwal is your region.
Kumaon (eastern Uttarakhand) is where Nainital, Almora, Ranikhet, Kausani, Mukteshwar, Corbett, and Adi Kailash sit. It is quieter, more nature-focused, and in many ways more scenic for leisure travel. Kumaon tends to attract travellers who want something beyond the standard tourist circuit (kuch alag aur authentic dhundhne wale).
You do not have to choose just one. Many of our best packages combine destinations from both regions into one well-paced circuit.
We are not a Delhi agency that coordinates your trip remotely. We are based in Dehradun — the gateway city of Uttarakhand — and our team travels these roads, stays at these properties, and knows these destinations from direct, year-round experience.
Here is what that means for you practically:
When something unexpected happens on a mountain road at 7pm — and sometimes it does — you want a team that actually picks up the phone and knows what to do. That is us.
Tell us when you want to travel, how many people are in your group, and what kind of trip you are looking for — leisure, adventure, wildlife, or a mix. We will put together a personalised itinerary and transparent quote within 24 hours.
No cookie-cutter packages. No hidden costs. Just honest advice from people who genuinely love this place and want you to experience it at its best.
